Opening Week is Here
Scavenger Hunts & More @ CMA

2013: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. At least for the Cleveland Museum of Art. The museum has planned a week (well, 4 days) of events to celebrate the end of 2013, the Opening Week of 2014 and the completion of its recent renovations.

Events include a scavenger hunt through the galleries, a portrait puzzle inspired by the famous living painter Chuck Close, Art Stories, live music & more…

Stating the Obvious
Predictions for 2014

As I always mention when doing a prediction column, an old gypsy fortune teller friend of mine once told me that predicting the future is often simply a matter of stating the obvious.

And that it’s all about awareness, observation, insight and extrapolation & really has nothing to do with crystal balls or magical powers.

With this in mind, here’s what the future holds in 2014…

Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the bearded clan of duck hunters currently enjoying fame and fortune with the A&E program Duck Dynasty, was the absolutely perfect holiday gift for progressives.

His outlandishly racist and homophobic comments will prove to be a boon for the left in the 2014 election cycle… and perhaps far beyond…

REVIEW: Cleveland Critics Circle Awards – Top Theatre Picks of 2013 by Roy Berko

Comment on our blog here: http://www.CoolCleveland.com/blog

2013 Brought a Bumper Crop of Local Record Releases Really should include Armstrong Bearcats “Stronger than Ever.” Featuring local guitar legend Butch Armstrong, Mike Barrick (also part of Bad Boys of Blues) and Billy Coakley. Three of the most skilled musicians in Cleveland.
Lisa Parsons

DURSTIN: Some Yuletide Coal From a War on Christmas Veteran I despise what “local” news and talk radio has become. More and more, it’s a PR arm for the failed, local entrant to the NFL… and a horrible one, at that. I’m not a proponent of drug use. But, it seems that it would be helpful to partake a bit in relation to sitting through any portion of a local “newscast.” Oh, for the days of Doug and Mona!
Dave Hopkins

MANSFIELD: Tokenism at Its Absolute Worst If you happened by the windows of the former Higbee’s a half decade ago, you’d see them “reflective” of Cleveland — empty. Thankfully, we now have entrepreneurs, developers and business people who actually DO things rather than whine about them all the time.
