They’re calling it “Mayhem at Main Street Beach,” but compared to the week’s Republican convention, this all-day outdoor party in downtown Vermilion is the pictured of bliss and relaxation.

There’s heated competition, of course — volleyball and cornhole and a “Battle of the Food Trucks.” There’s a beverage cabana for refreshments and live music by the Radhouse Band, Toby Koeth and Dann Swift. Slather on some sunscreen and come down and spend the day.
