Pugsley’s Room at 78th Street Studios Celebrates a Year of Selling Outre Objects

Friday July 15 @ 5-9PM

Anyone who has ever stopped by Pugsley’s Room, the little shop stashed in a back corner of the 2nd floor at the 78th Street Studios, has undoubtedly been fascinated by its collection of often macabre oddities, including scientific specimens and religious books and icons. Its unusual mix of stuff isn’t the sort of thing you go shopping for; you most likely didn’t know you wanted this stuff until you saw it whether it’s a handmade voodoo doll, a preserved insect in a jar, a detailed crucifix, a strange book, old medical equipment such as embalming bottles, Beth Biasella’s intricately tattered goth garments, or a promotional pamphlet from Cleveland’s legendary and long-closed black funeral home, the House of Wills, detailing its rococo interior.

Pugsley’s is celebrating its 1st anniversary this week at 7th Street Studio’s Third Friday so stop in and say hello, and discover something you didn’t know you desperately needed — but now you can’t live without.
