Before the storm — the Republican National Convention at Quicken Loans Arena — downtown was a hive of activity, as workers hung signs, built stages erected tents, unloaded event furniture from trucks and toted it into spaces that would soon be hosting parties. We captured some scenes of downtown being transformed by an army of the behind-the-scenes people who are so essential to any large-scale event. We even ran into a few early arriving Trump supporters!
