Thomas Fox, one of the co-founders of Brite Winter Fest, wanted to kick off his annual music festival down on the Lake, but instead lucked out.

Dunham Tavern Museum in Midtown turned out to be the perfect sylvan location for music, food and fun. Not only an excellent sounding outdoor music venue, the historic Dunham Tavern hosts one of Cleveland’s largest urban farms, raising crops for area restaurants.

12 bands on 3 stages on a beautiful Friday afternoon created a relaxed scene. Cleveland acts like Sweetgrass and The Whiskey Hollow mixed it up with groups like Saintseneca from Columbus and Mimicking Birds from Portland and Chrome Pony hailing from Nashville.

Urban farmer Jay Szabo showed us around the crops he is raising for chef Doug Katz. For about 3 months of the year, all of Katz’s restaurants are supplied by this garden in the middle of Cleveland.

We can’t wait until next year!
