Hear Clevelanders Tell Their Stories at Story Club Cle at the Bottlehouse

Story Club

Tue 8/2 @ 7PM

This month, the theme of the monthly Story Club Cleveland event is, appropriately, “Hot and Sticky,” something we’ve all experienced recently.

What’s the deal? Story Club is an open mic for storytellers, with three headliners pre-scheduled and three additional ones chosen from those who come to the event and sign up at 7. (If more than three people sign up, names are drawn to pick those who get to perform). Each storyteller has eight minutes to tell a personal story, which may or may not be related to the theme. At the end of the show, the audience votes for their favorite, which is published in Story Club Magazine.

The featured performers this month are essayist Dan Rourke, tattoo artist Stephanie Streeter and writer/comedian Deen Nyer Mendlowitz. It takes place at the Bottlehouse in Cleveland Heights, where you can order beer, wine, cocktails or their special menu of meads (they serve food as well). It’s free but there’s a suggested donation of $10, which goes to pay the featured performers.
