Donald Trump and the RNC may not be the best introduction to elections for kids. But pre-school teacher and children’s author Anita Iaco is gamely trying to get them started with the right attitude.
In her book Let’s Vote: A Fruitful Election Tale, she talks about elections and voting in terms kids can understand. Students vote for their favorite fruit, with one chosen to speak for the apple, one for the banana and one for the orange, learning about the importance of being truthful and keeping promises.
Iaco will be at Loganberry Books to read to kids and engage them in activities including staging an election like the one in the book. And there will be snacks! It’s free.
