For old-school home chefs who love that big heavy cast-iron cookware that their grandmother had, the Ohio Regional Cast Iron Enthusiasts gathering at the Coit Road Market is a dream come true. Now in its 3rd year, the event allows cast-iron lovers to buy and sell and pick up tips on care and use of the cookware, including a demo on the cleaning and seasoning of cast iron.
Market manager Kevin Scheuring is promising to bring some chicken and corn to share and others are invited to do so as well, potluck-style. It’s free. And don’t forget the check in at the market (8am-1pm) to pick up stuff to cook in all those pots and pans.
