Waterloo’s Satellite Gallery Reaches for the Sky With New Show ‘Zenith’

Satellite

Fri 6/3 @ 6-9PM

Maybe you were leaving the Beachland Ballroom one evening and turning south on E. 156th to get to the freeway, you noticed a strange silver house with large portholes on your right and wondered what it was.

Wonder no more! Step inside Loren Naji’s Satellite Gallery and see ordinary rooms transformed into places of strange, disorienting places full of surprises. The latest show in the installation-based gallery is called Zenith. It features the work of 10 artists: Eric Adamo, Claudia Berlinski, Ross Bochnek, Hunter Just, Bryan Langsdale, Erin Lung, Michaelle Marschall, Cynthia Petry, Lisa Tagliaferri and Jess Leela Willow. See everything from rooms conducive to blissful repose to one that tackles issues of racism and identity.

Then walk outside where artist Linda Zolten Wood, founder of the Collinwood Rain Barrel Project, will be painting rain barrels, showing you how to do it and sharing information about how rain barrels help conserve water and benefit the environment.

It’s part of the monthly Walk All Over Waterloo, when all the businesses and galleries host openings, receptions and special events.
