Fri 6/3 @ 8PM

Sat 6/4 @ 8PM

Tom Tallitsch has gone a long way since he way growing up in Bay Village and Westlake. But that’s where the jazz sax player/composer got his feet wet in music. Then he headed for the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music where he got a degree in jazz studies and never looked back.

Now based in the New Jersey, Tallitsch performs regularly around the New York metro area and along the east coast, while juggling a multitude of other projects including hosting The Modern Jazz Radio Show, serving as musical director/composer for multi-media dance company Big Sky Project founded by his wife Carrie Ellmore-Tallitsch, owning a music tutoring business, teaching piano (another of his instruments) in a variety of contexts including giving lessons to children on the autism spectrum, giving lectures and — oh yeah, finding time to make his own records.

His seventh album, Gratitude, was released in March in Posi-Tone Records. He’ll be coming home to northeast Ohio for a pair of belated release shows — on Fri 6/3 at BluJazz Akron and Sat 6/4 at the BOP Stop. He’ll be on tenor sax, with pianist Jon Davis from NTC, bassist Peter Brendler from NYC and drummer Dave Throckmorton from Pittsburgh joining him. Tickets for each show are $12.
