Wed 6/8 @ 6PM
Clevelander Lisa Rainsong is a singer, composer and teacher who teaches at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she earned her doctor of music in composition and performs with Cleveland-based professional vocal group Quire Cleveland. But there’s a whole other aspect to her. She’s a dedicated naturalist with an interest in another type of music: the music of the great outdoors. She does field recordings of northeast Ohio’s birds, insects and frogs which she posts on her blog Listening in Nature.
She’ll also be sharing those recordings at the next Cleveland Stories program at the Music Box Supper Club “Music of the Cuyahoga — From Burning River to Nature Sanctuary.” You can pre-order a $20, three-course dinner themed to the program, including perch chowder, chicken paprikash and Napoleon ice cream. Doors open for dinner at 6pm. The program starts at 7:30; it’s free.
