Seafair is one of Cleveland’s most impressive bands, with a widescreen sound that’s enhances the basic guitar/bass/drums lineup with strings and the keyboards of vocalist Chayla Hope, who’s got a powerful, passionate voice and charismatic presence.
After launching in late 2011, the six-piece group rose rapidly to prominence locally on the back of their relentless and irresistible live shows. They’ve also released a pair of EPs and their full-length debut, last year’s The Querencia.
They’re not promiscuous over-giggers so you’ll want to catch them when you can, such as this Thursday at the Grog Shop for their Cinco de Mayo celebration. The Barrio Tacos food truck will be there; there’ll be beer and tequila specials, and DJ Generico will spin between opening sets by Jesus on the Mainline, the Ohio Weather Band and the Kickbacks. Admission is $8.
