Ceramics

Sat 6/4 @ 2-4PM

Maybe you’ve already checked out the current ceramics invitational at the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve. It features the work in clay by 17 regional artists, curated by Lakeland Community College gallery director Mary Urbas, revealed the diversity of interests, themes and practices among these artists.

If that piqued your interest in the art form, the Artists Archives is sponsoring a talk by American Craft magazine senior editor Julie Hanus, taking place at the Beachwood branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. She’ll talk about how ceramic artists are helping demonstrate the value artists bring to the world in the way they combine their studio practice with social, environmental and political action. She’ll explore why ceramics is suited to this role, provide examples and answer questions. It’s free. RSVP here.
