Mulberry Creek Herb Farm Holds May Day Celebration & Faerie Fest

Faerie

Sat 4/30 @ 10AM-5PM

Sun 5/1 @ 1-5PM

It’s the perfect time of year for a drive out to the countryside, say, someplace like the fertile farmlands of Huron County. This weekend, the family-owned organic Mulberry Creek Herb Farm gives you the perfect reason to take the family there.

On Saturday it will be hosting its 6th annual Faerie Fest. If you know anything about Mulberry Creek, you know they specialize in miniature plants along with all the tiny accessories you need to make your own faerie garden. And scattered around the place are miniature settings including a tiny train that enthralls the kids while their parents are browsing the hundreds of kinds of herbs and the multitude of vegetable starters which the farm will have the greatest selection of right now. Events include a faery rummage sale, vendors, classes and demonstrations, kids activities, refreshments and a miniature garden drawing.

On Sunday it will host its first May Day celebration, with a May crown or magic wand making session and a Maypole dance and tea at 2:30pm, along with an all-day scavenger hunt. Except for the terrarium make-and-take class on Saturday, which is $40, it’s all free. If the weather’s dicey, don’t worry — events will take place in the pavilion or the barn.
