Fri 4/15 @ 5PM

Artist Anthony Eterovich, who died in 2011, was born 100 years ago. So four Cleveland galleries are joining forces to honor the Cleveland Institute of Art alum and 54-year faculty member with a major retrospective.

The cornerstone of the tribute will be a show called A Thrilling Act: The Art of Anthony Eterovich, opening at the Tregoning & Company gallery at 78th Street Studios during the monthly Third Friday artwalk. The John Petrone Trio will be playing in the gallery to highlight the influence of jazz in Eterovich’s work.

In addition, the CIA Study Collection will feature drawings by Eterovich through August. ARTneo’s new show Fundamental Gestures: Figures from Life, which also opens Fri 4/15 at the 78th Street Studios, includes several works by Eterovich. And the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve will show at small selection of his work in a Pop-Up Office exhibition 4/20-5/7.

A full-color exhibition catalogue with essays and remembrances by Bruce Checefsky, William Martin Jean and George Kozman will be available for purchase at Tregoning & Company.
