PHOTOSTREAM: St. Patrick’s Day Parade by Anastasia Pantsios

Thu 3/17

What do you say about the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, held every March 17th in downtown Cleveland, that hasn’t been said? Nothing ever really changes but the weather — the same fleet-footed Irish dancers, the same earnest high school bands and flashy, smiling drill teams and majorettes, the same ensembles of men in kilts, the same proud union floats, the same adorable Irish setters and Irish wolfhounds (and relatively new, adoptable pets from City Dogs wearing blankets that say “Adopt me!”), the same reveler sporting lots of green plastic shamrock gear.

As for that weather, in the last decade, we’ve seen blizzards and freezing cold as well as summertime heat. This year’s weather was nearly perfect — intermittent sun and clouds, and moderate temperatures, just cool enough that the band members weren’t sweating in their heavy uniforms. Here are lots pictures for you to enjoy.
