Fri 2/19-Sat 4/16

Artists Jessica Pinsky, Libby Chaney and Rebecca Cross are all well known in this area for the evocative works they create using fabric. Chaney’s “room” of large patchwork walling hangings depicting the march of the seasons was on display at the Maria Neil Art Project late last year. Jessica Pinsky not only creates her own work based on an interplay of dyeing and weaving but also founded Praxis Fiber Workshop to give other artists the opportunity the learn and work in the medium. And Oberlin’s Rebecca Cross is known for her flowing, movement-implying work with a Japanese influence.

In their group show Threaded at 78th Street Studios’ HEDGE Gallery, they’ll fill the wall with multiple series of prints, large-scale weavings and fabric rooms created through dyeing, weaving, sewing and printmaking.

The show opens with a reception during the monthly Third Friday Art Walk.
