The Jazz Heritage Orchestra Salutes Count Basie @BopStopTMS

HelloMrBasie

Sat 2/6 @ 8PM

Fewer jazz artists were more influential or held in higher esteem than bandleader/composer/keyboard player Count Basie who led legendary bands from the 1930s through his death in 1984. He worked with singers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Eckstine and Joe Williams and launched the careers of musicians like Quincy Jones.

That’s why the Jazz Heritage Orchestra, a professional 17-piece ensemble in residence at the Cleveland State University Black Studies program, is presenting Hello Mr. Basie, a tribute to the music of Basie ad the musicians and composers who played in his band. It takes place at the Bop Stop. Tickets are $20.
