Collinwood is one of the Cleveland neighborhoods working hardest to be the next comeback neighborhood. It’s snagged grants to rehab housing and to do a streetscape transformation on Waterloo Road, where more than a dozen new businesses have opened recently with more in the offing. It’s also turning its attention to the restoration of the once thriving E. 185th commercial strip.

There’s a lot going on, which the community development organization, Northeast Shores, will celebrate at its Taste the Neighborhood fundraiser, taking place at the Lithuanian Hall on E. 185th.

The event will feature foods from many area restaurants, along with a cash bar, as awards are given to residents, organizations, block clubs and businesses that are helping to fuel the area’s growth. They’ll also recognize an “Investment of the Year,” a project that really stood out in helping move the neighborhood forward and honor a person dedicated to the neighbrohood’s betterment with induction into the Collinwood Hall of Fame.

Advance tickets are $25; day of event $30. Call Julia at 216-481-7660 or go here to reserve your spot.
