Fri 2/5 @ 8:30PM

Tokyo-born Keigo Hirakawa is a man who wears two hats. He’s got a PhD in engineering and he’s an assistant professor of engineering at the University of Dayton.

But he’s also a dedicated musician who has been playing piano and organ since he was a pre-schooler, studying classical music from the age of 3 and taking up jazz in high school. He’s hopped arund quite a bit in his life, from Ohio to California to Boston ad back to Ohio again, but he’s also carried music with him.

Currently he plays with the Eddie Brookshire Quintet and the Brandon Coleman Quartet and leads his own trio. He’ll be bringing that trio, featuring Brookshire on acoustic bass and Fenton Sparks on drums to Nighttown to play music from his album of last year And Then There Were Three. Tickets are $10.
