Kent’s Standing Rock Cultural Arts presents a lot of free outdoor events in the summer in downtown Kent — a monthly sidewalk cinema, a cider festival, an ice cream social.

But it wants to bring people together in the winter too. So bundle up and head down to the heart of Kent — the intersection of Water and Main — for “Make Mine with Ice,” its 12th annual ice-carving exhibition. See what spectacular things the University of Akron ice-carving club (bet you didn’t know THAT was an extracurricular activity!) can create in this medium. There will be hot beverage and soups being served by the Robin’s Nest, and Stahl’s Bakery will have pastries available.
