Cleveland’s Welshly Arms have just reached the three-year mark and they can look back on those years with a sense of accomplishment. They’ve played a series of high-profile showcases and festival gigs, building a fan base to the point where they packed two successive nights at the Beachland Ballroom last October. They’ve released two EPs, followed by a full-length album last year, and their music was used in an official Cleveland tourism video.
The quartet features four musicians — vocalist/guitarist Sam Getz, keyboard player/vocalist Brett Lindemann, bassist/vocalist Jimmy Weaver and drummer Mike Gould — built an impressive resume who honed their musical skills honed in various other bands, creating their own timeless-sounding classic rock/blues-influenced music with cross-generational appeal that helps to explain why they’ve risen so fast.
They’ll headline at Akron’s Musica with Cleveland electronic/hip hop/pop artist Marcus Alan Ward and Ageless Males opening. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
