Blue Arrow Records on Waterloo Road threw an in-store party to celebrate David Bowie’s 69th birthday and the release of his new album Blackstar. The fans who came to honor their hero did not idea that he would pass away in 48 hours and that the party was a de facto celebration of his life and career. There was cake, there were party hats, there was music spun by local musician Dave Swanson, and there were lots and lots of David Bowie memorabilia and recordings to buy from the career of the prolific, shape-shifting and influential musician whose breakout market was Cleveland.
