Sat 12/26-Sat 1/2

Our local museums are very helpful when it comes to keeping kids engaged over Christmas vacation. You could probably fill every day with an activity. The Great Lakes Science Center, for instance, is providing eight full days of hands-on, educational family fun from 12/26-1/2.

It’s all got a wintry theme too. You can make your own “polysnow” to take home after participating in the hourly dance parties in the promenade enhanced with this falling “snow,” or do some carpet skating or magnetic ice fishing. Watch the winter-themed Big Science Show or make Rudolph noses or noisemakers (parents will just love that!). Special demonstrations have a festive theme too: watch liquid nitrogen creating ice cream and fruitcakes explode.

All activities are free with regular admission ($15 adults, $12 kids 2-12) and take place daily from 11am-4pm, except Sun 12/27 when they run from 1-4pm.
