In the late 1980s, one of the main hubs of the techno/industrial music scene, which was then fairly underground, was the Nine of Clubs in the then-abandoned and run-down Warehouse District. There DJs spun records by bands mostly unknown to mainstream music listeners, such as Sisters of Mercy, Front 242, Depeche Mode, Ministry, Lords of Acid and many more.
DJs Tim Smith, Glacial23 and D.Jayexcess will recreate some of that musical vibe at the Phantasy Concert Club, another venue known for being friendly to that music and crowd back in the late ’80s and ’90s. Break out the black lipstick and head on down. Doors and music at 9pm.
