Catch two of Cleveland’s low-key musical treasures tonight in one of its most low-key and intimate venues, the Barking Spider Tavern. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Charlie Mosbrook has been force in the local acoustic music community for two and a half decades, releasing many albums, organizing open mic nights and serving as president of the nonprofit group Folknet. Brian Henke reinvented himself in the ’90s, leaving behind rock and roll to become one of the area’s top fingerstyle guitar players. And he too is a catalyst in his music community: he is the organizer of the annual Woodchoppers Ball at the Kent Stage taking place this year on Sat 12/12.
Charlie goes on at 8pm; Brian performs at 10. Music is always free at the Spider; they pass a hat for the musicians.
