It’s Happy Holidays Time With @ClevePOPSOhio @PlayhouseSquare

The Cleveland Pops Orchestra always pulls out all the stops for its annual holiday concert and this year’s “Happy Holidays” presentation is no different.

The whole family is invited to join the always-entertaining ensemble and some special friends, including the Cleveland POPS chorus, soloists, dancers, celebrities and Santa Claus, for an afternoon of much-loved holiday music at PlayhouseSquare’s Connor Palace Theatre.

NEOS Dance Theatre will perform selections from every little girl’s favorite ballet The Nutcracker, Fox 8 news anchor Todd Meany will narrate and beloved Cleveland weathercaster Dick Goddard will sing. We wouldn’t be surprised if the orchestra’s zany conductor Carl Topilow will be playing green and red clarinets. And yes, you’ll be invited to sing along with the orchestra and chorus.

The fun won’t all be on stage though. Santa will be in the lobby, waiting to take photos with the kids. The Beachwood Schools’ String Ensemble led by Cleveland Pops violinist Lisa Goldman will be performing. And — uh-oh! — local shelters will be bringing adoptable pets to gaze at your kids with big pleading eyes: Adopt me, adopt me! Don’t think you can resist!

The Cleveland Pops Orchestra is also inviting those so moved to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the City Mission for its Laura’s Home Women’s Crisis Center where homeless children are staying with their mothers. Drop off a toy and bring home a new kitten.

Tickets are $12-$37 at the PlayhouseSquare box office.
