That guitarist Jane Getter is a respected top-tier player in both the progressive rock and jazz communities is clear from the quality of musicians she was able to command to be appeared on her latest album On: they’ve played with such artists as Joe Satriani, Miles Davis, Frank Zappa, Alan Holdsworth and Robert Fripp. She herself has played with such jazz masters as Lenny White and Brother Jack McDuff; she’s also played in the Saturday Night Live band. And Guitar Player magazine has called her “the fieriest female ever to strap on a Stratocaster.”
Her Jane Getter Premonition, the band she’s bringing to Nighttown, features an all-star lineup as well including bassist Stu Hamm and Alex Skolnik, whose trio performs at Nighttown the previous night. It also includes drummer John Mader and keyboard player Adam Holzman. Tickets are $20.
