Singer/guitarist Nathan Hedges started Cities & Coasts quite a few years ago, with drummer Michael Gould and multi-instrumentalist Jimmy Weaver. But it’s only in the past two years or so that the band has really attracted the attention of local music fans with its tuneful pop/rock laden with ’60s influences. That was spearheaded by the release last year of its album, Postcards from the Great Lakes, which has a light, bright summery vibe throughout.
Cities & Coasts is known for its flexible personnel and changing array of musical guest stars who augment its sound at its live shows. The band is now putting out a new single “Finer Than Gold” (with a new album expected next year). They’ll will mark the occasion with a show at the Beachland Ballroom. Show up to see who shows up. Dan Miraldi & the Chaos Band and Uptight Sugar open.
