The Walking Clampetts have been kicking around the area music scene since the early ’80s, at times more actively than others. Fronted by guitarist Johnny Reagle, the band started out as Johnny Clampett and the Walkers, then evolved into the Walking Clampetts in the mid ’80s. Under that name, the Akron trio honed its rockabilly/surf sound, drenched in the spirit of the ’50s and early ’60s, and developed a small but loyal following.

The group is back with its annual Holiday Stomp at Akron’s Tangier, where it will be joined by Half Cleveland, which features former Tiny Huey bandmates Chris Butler and Harvey Gold.
