Akron’s Hollow Bone Records is a new independent record store in the area, specializing in vinyl — it opened late this past summer. And. like many such stores, it aims to be a gathering place for the type of person who is passionate about music and wants something more than a digital file on their computer.
One way to do that is to host in-store performances. So they’ll be hosting a couple of Akron bands on Black Friday, both newcomers to the local scene. Three Legged Chairs are just under two years old and known for high-energy performances inspired by bands like the Strikes, Cage the Elephant and Arctic Monkeys. Fancy Legs (pictured) is even newer, formed just this year by Akron music scene veterans who name-check older bands like Bad Company and Led Zeppelin.
The performance is free and all ages. And the store opens at 9am with some special Record Store Day limited-edition items. So don’t head down to Walmart at 6am and spend all your money.
