Young Cellist Dane Johansen & Pianist Victor Stanislavsky Perform for Tuesday Musical’s Fuze Series

Fri 10/9 @ 7PM

Cellist Dane Johansen and pianist Victor Stanislavsky met in 2006 at the Stearns Institute, a summer conservatory at the Ravinia Festival, Chicago’s equivalent of Blossom Music Center.

Since then, Alaska native Johansen, who studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music as well as Juilliard, where he now teaches, and the Ukrainian-born Israeli Stanislavsky who got his degrees at Tel Aviv University, have collaborated often, as their schedules allow. And despite both being young, their schedules are packed with concerts around the world.

One of the places they’ve managed to connect is in northeast Ohio, where they’ll perform at Steinway Piano Gallery, 334 Hines Hill Rd., Boston Heights part of the Tuesday Musical Association’s Fuze series.  Their program will feature Clude Debussy’s Sonata for Cello and Piano, Robert Schumann’s Five Pieces in Folk Style and Elliott Carter’s Sonata for Cello and Piano.

Tickets are $25 and the concert includes refreshments and the chance to meet and talk to the musicians. Go to tuesdaymusical.org or call 330-761-3460 for tickets.
