Celebrating 15 years of service, the Gathering Place will host the inaugural GatherPalooza fundraising event at historical gem Grays Armory. On Sat 10/17 from 6:30-11:00pm, a Battle of the Bands between four local rock bands, with professionals derived from the healthcare, law and insurance industries, will rock it out!

“GatherPalooza is not only a celebration of our 15 years of service, but is important in keeping what we do at the Gathering Place completely free for our community,” says the Gathering Place’s chief executive officer Eileen Saffran. “We’re excited and grateful to partner with a group of great local musicians, all the while raising funds that will provide support to those who have been touched by cancer.”

The four bands featured at GatherPalooza include the Nerve, Skin & Bones, Faith and Whiskey, and 80-HD. The event will be emceed by Live Nation’s Barry Gabel. The band members are physicians and other healthcare professionals from University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic, as well as judges and attorneys from various firms. Attendees will be encouraged to designate their philanthropic support to the band of their choice. The band that generates the most charitable support for the Gathering Place will receive a private party during a Live Nation concert.

In addition to the Battle of the Bands, raffle tickets will be available for $25 each. This is your chance to win two tickets to the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in New York City. This also includes roundtrip airfare and two-night hotel accommodations for two.

General admission tickets are $75. VIP tickets are available for $150. General admission includes food stations along with two complimentary drink tickets. VIP tickets also include complimentary valet parking, a seat at a reserved table and open bar access.

100 percent of the proceeds will support and provide free services at the Gathering Place for those touched by cancer. These services include support groups, programming for children and teens, art therapy, nutrition and exercise classes, lectures, lending libraries, Regina Brett Wig Salons and more.

The Gathering Place is a nonprofit, community-based cancer support center that focuses on the social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of individuals with cancer and their family and friends.
