Fri 10/16 @ 5-9PM

Michael Gill is well known around town as an arts and news writer who worked for years for the Free Times and Scene. He co-founded the Collective Arts Network and is publisher/editor of the quarterly CAN Journal.

But he’s also an accomplished printmaker and creator of artist books who has shown at places like Zygote and the late, great William Busta Gallery. He’s got a new show opening at the prestigious Tregoning & Co. this month during 78th Street Studios Third Fridays artwalk.

It will feature a selection of prints from his brand-new artist book of woodcuts, A Pocket Full of Change, which shows and tells the story of a boy who goes out on his bicycle (Gill is also an avid cyclist) to put coins on tracks to be run over by trains. A limited edition of the books will be available at the gallery.

The show runs through 12/18.
