Wed 10/14 @ noon
The singers of Great Lakes Light Opera will be performing at Trinity Cathedral as part of its weekly Brownbag Concert series — and it’s the perfect venue and event for what they do. Their mission is to bring opera to untraditional venues that allow audiences of all types — both opera lovers and those unfamiliar with opera — to hear it in an easily digested form. That means a series of short, appealing arias rather than a fully staged production of Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, a lovely opera but clocking in at over five hours. And for this hour, they’ll be doing a bunch of favorite tunes from Gilbert & Sullivan operettas.
Trinity’s Brownbag concerts start a little after noon and end by 1, plenty of time for you to get back to the office. You can bring a lunch to eat at the cathedral or buy one there for $5. The concert is free.
