Cleveland singer/actor William Clarence Marshall III has amassed an impressive resume of performances on regional stages and concert halls including the Beck Center, Ensemble Theatre, Karamu and Severance Hall, just for a start. He’s even performed at Carnegie Hall in New York as part of An Evening of Spirituals. He’s also a busy voice-over performer, voicing ads for the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University, among many others.

With his background, the dramatic reading he’ll be doing at the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church should be powerful. Called Colored Boy Blues, it deals with an African-American family trying to survive in the face of institutional racism.

It takes place in the church sanctuary immediately following the service. It’s free.
