Cleveland’s Blue Water Chamber Orchestra opens its 2015-2016 season with a program of music by Hispanic composers — Mexican and Spanish — including one of the best-known pieces for classical guitar, Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez.Naturally, that means they need a guitarist, and they’ve snagged one of the best around to join them as soloist: the internationally noted Jason Vieaux, who won the 2015 Grammy for Best Classical Instrumental Solo for his most recent album Play, and who heads the guitar department at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

The evening will also include Manuel de Falla’s familiar Three Cornered Hat Suite 1; Mexican composer Silvestra Revueltas’ 1936 Homage to Federico Garcia Lorca, honoring the great poet killed in the Spanish Civil War that year; Danzon No. 2 by contemporary Mexican composer Arturo Marquez; and American composer Aaron Copland’s Three Latin American Sketches, his tribute to Mexico.

The concert takes place at the Breen Center in Ohio City. Tickets are $23, $18 for seniors, $9 for students. There’s also a special family rates — two adults and two students for $45.
