Come Dancing With @TheAdmirables @BeachlandCle

Fri 9/11 @ 9PM

Expect a full house when the Admirables play the Beachland Tavern. The Akron-based instrumental soul/funk band has taken the area by storm much as its cousin band, Wesley Bright & the Hi-Lites, did a few years earlier. (Admirables founder/frontman Nathan-Paul Davis also plays sax with Akron’s Hi-Lites.)

Like the Hi-Lites, the Admirables’ roots are in classic soul, but with more of a nod to ’70s-style funk and less emphasis on the heart-wrenching ballads. With their lively horns and infectious beats, their audiences just can’t stop dancing, even when the place is packed as the Beachland Tavern is likely to be.

The Night Owls, a 10-piece soul band from Austin, open — no idea where they are going to fit all of them on the tavern stage!  But it should be a sweaty good time from beginning to end. Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 at the door.
