Tue 8/11 @ 7:30PM

Wed 8/12 @ 7:30PM

The summer is down time for many classical music ensembles, but not Apollo’s Fire, Cleveland’s baroque orchestra. They already made quite a splash in their debut at the Tanglewood Festival in Massachusetts, one of the country’s major classical music festivals.

Now they’re heading off to Europe where they’ll play the BBC Proms in London, as well as concerts in Aldeburgh UK and Tuscany where its programs will include Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos nos 3 & 5, C.P.E. Bach’s Symphony in B minor and Telemann’s Don Quixote Suite. They’ll be joined by up-and-coming European violinist Alina Ibragimova.

And before they go, they’ll share a look at their performance with their loyal local audience. They’ll perform two send-off concerts — one on Tue 8/11 at Bath Church and another on Wed 8/12 at the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Kulas Hall. In addition to the music, gold ticket holders will be able to join the performers for champagne and hors d’oevres after the concert; others can add the reception for $15. Come and say “farewell” to Jeannette Sorrell and her group until the regular season begins in October.

Tickets are $20-$55.
