The @MaltzMuseum Hosts Kosher Hotdog Challenge

KOSHERHOTDOGCHALLENGE

Sun 8/9 @ 12:30-3:30PM

As the days to see the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage’s current exhibit Chasing Dreams: Baseball & Becoming American wind down (it closes 9/7), the museum is getting more creative with its tie-in promotions. Enough with the speakers and films: they’re sponsoring “Straight to the Toppings: The Kosher Hotdog Cookout Challenge”!

Teams from various community organizations, businesses and synagogues will be competing to come up with the most intriguing condiment combinations to adorn a hotdog. You can try theirs — and vote on your favorite — or come up with your own. In addition, museum visitors will have the chance to meet and get an autograph from retired Cincinnati Reds pitcher Moe Savransky and try the outdoor batting cage — and of course, see the exhibit.

The Maltz Museum is dedicating the Challenge to the memory of Earl Lefkowitz who worked with Tom Sudow to introduce the first rabbinically supervised Kosher hotdog stand to the Indians’ stadium.

The event is free with museum admission; 18 and younger get in free. Hotdogs are $2 a pieces, with chips, soda, water and popsicles also available for purchase.
