The Countryside Conservancy holds its farmers market every Saturday morning throughout the season at Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Howe Meadow. And there are always some vendors selling handmade crafts alongside its farmers and producers selling fresh, sustainable, locally grown and produced food.
But once a year, it expands the craft/gift offerings when it teams up with Akron’s Crafty Mart to present what it calls “the mother of all markets.” Fifteen additional vendors will be selling things like hand-printed T-shirts, jewelry and handmade rag dolls.
To make it even more of an event, there’ll be a craft cocktails class at 10:30am where bartender Lorilei Bailey of Spice Kitchen + Bar will show how to use seasonal fruits and vegetables in whiskey-based cocktails. Pre-registration is required for that so go here if you’re interested. That’s $20 per person (we assume that includes tasting the cocktails). The market is free.
