Fri 9/4 @ 9PM
Carlos Jones has been kicking around the area’s reggae scene since the late ’70s, first with I-Tal, then with First Light, now with his own P.L.U.S. Band. He’s one of the area’s most beloved performers, spreading good vibes wherever he goes.
Junior Bailey, who calls himself JR Blessington, is a relative newcomer to northeast Ohio’s reggae community. Originally from Jamaica, he began performing there and writing songs when he was just out of his teens, influenced by a range of classic and contemporary reggae artists from Bob Marley to Shaggy to dancehall/reggae fusion artists like Collie Buddz. He moved to the U.S. in 2001 and has begun to make his mark in Cleveland.
Old and new will join together for a show at the Grog Shop when Jones and Blessington share the stage, Jones with the P.L.U.S. Band and Blessington with his Straight Fiyah Band.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
