There was plenty of art to see at the August First Friday art walk, Walk All Over Waterloo, on North Collinwood’s Waterloo Road. It included a one-month-only show of mixed-media work by Eric Leroy Alleman opening that night, as well as several ongoing shows.
But there was also lots of street life, as the new plaza at the corner of Waterloo and E. 156th, constructed during the 2013-2014 streetscape project, was buzzing with activity. There was a spin class courtesy of NuLife Fitness Camp up the block and a duet yoga demonstration. Artist Linda Zolten Wood was painting, while nearby, a young woman received a manicure and smells wafted over from the outdoor grill outside the Callaloo Cafe.
