Nashville Fiddle Duo 10 String Symphony @10SSymphony Plays at Peninsula’s G.A.R. Hall

10 String Symphony

Sat 9/5 @ 8PM

Nashville’s 10 String Symphony features ten strings but just two musicians — fiddle players Rachel Baiman and Christian Sedelmeyer. With his classical background and her affinity for bluegrass, the duo combines fiddles and voices to produce unusual music that’s a blend of folk, country, bluegrass, Celtic, old-time and rock. The group released its debut album in late 2012, not too long after they got their start busking in downtown Nashville. And although they incorporated a little mandolin and banjo, their mission is to explore what they can do within the context of their own two instruments and voices.

They recently funded a new album with a successful Indiegogo campaign. That album, Weight of the World, will be out October 23. If you’d like a preview of where the band is at now musically, they’ll be playing at Peninsula’s G.A.R. Hall as part of its Voices in the Valley series.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 day of show.
