Akron’s new Akron CAMP — the Center for Art, Music and Performance — keeps coming up with new angles to make creativity fun for grownups. Its class, Thrift Store Art “Plus,” takes off from those tacky clichéd paintings you find dumped in thrift stores after someone couldn’t stand looking at them another day. Bring one or several — or let them know and they’ll provide one for you — and use it as a base to let your imagination run wild. Artist/gallerist Amy Mothersbaugh, who teaches the class, will provide materials for you to embellish your thrift store find. The class is $40.
