The DEVOtional, a fan convention dedicated to Akron band DEVO, which was formed in 1972 when the members were at Kent State University, was held for ten straight years between 2001-2010, first in Akron, then in Cleveland, before taking a break. After a three-year hiatus, it returned last year, and it’s happening again this year attracting the kind of proud nerds who are DEVO fans from around the country.
The two-day event will feature numerous bands doing tributes to DEVO or music inspired by the band, as well as speakers including founder member Gerald V. Casale, and current drummer Josh Freese. It takes place once again at the Beachland Ballroom
Tickets are $35 for both days, or $10 for those under 16 if you want to turn your kids on to this smart, hilarious, tongue-in-cheek band.
