Cleveland’s Infamous Floyd Band Reunites @PatsInTheFlats

FloydBand

Fri 8/7 @ 9PM

The Floyd Band shook things up in Cleveland’s punk scene in the mid-late ’80s and early ’90s with their in-your-face-and-on-your-nerves attitude and music. “Singer”/frontman Floyd Longworth sold hot dogs from a cart by day; by night, he haunted the clubs and drunkenly hectored people about why WMMS wasn’t playing punk rock. The band released a vinyl album in 1990 famously called I Burped and Puke Came Out My Nose. Floyd was always ready to explain how that REALLY HAPPENED.

But Floyd settled down and eventually moved to North Carolina to raise his daughter as a single dad. But be very afraid: he’s coming back to town and getting the old gang back together to celebrate his 60th birthday. The reunion show will take place at the band’s old stomping ground, Pat’s in the Flats, and, we’re told, “it will be historic like the Hindenburg,” with “music, magic and mayhem and prolly a fight —( for some there always is)”.

Special guests are the Two Bobs and the Tufted Puffins, the newest project from Mike Baker of Sleazy Jesus and the Splatter Pigs “fame.”
