Art Viewing, Art Making, Music, Food & More at Walk All Over Waterloo

WalkAllOverWaterloo

Fri 9/4 @ 5-9PM

There’s a lot going on, as usual, at the monthly Walk All Over Waterloo, billed this month as a “Salute to Summer” — in the rearview mirror, alas but time enough for one last summer celebration.

Waterloo Road will be closed between E. 156th and 157th (in front of the Beachland Ballroom) for a block party. Kids, come on your bike, skateboard and rollerblades and decorate or dress up. There’ll be hands-on art-making, live music, food and ice cream. At 9pm, things will wind down with an outdoor movie and s’mores.

There’ll also be plenty of art going on in Waterloo’s Galleries and art spaces. Poster artist/graphic novelist Jake Kelly will be opening a big show at Gallery One Sixty you won’t want to miss; see our story here. ArtiCLE will have a group show that celebrates Cleveland’s industrial roots and its blossoming revival. And the Maria Neil Art Project also has a new show opening featuring the enamel and glass works of local artist Scott Goss.

And don’t forget to stop in at print studio Ink House, Praxis Fiber Workshop and Brick Ceramic + Design Studio to learn about opportunities to develop your own artistic skills in those media. Stop by Satellite Gallery in E. 156th too where you can help make art out of beach debris at Erie Art Treasures, going on in the driveway. Be sure to check out the current set of installations inside; it’s their final month.

It’s all free.
