Unstoppable

Whether it’s the Pride Parade and Festival finally stepping off after an untimely rainout, or the Katz Club Diner rising like the Phoenix after a devastating fire, people around here just aren’t the type to give up.

Retro is always in style, whether it’s an Ice Cream Social in Kent, or a Dive-In Movie at Ledge Pool, or CSU’s Jazz Heritage Orchestra at BOP STOP. Adopted son Todd R does double duty at TKS and the Lorain Palace. The Glenville Community Festival rolls on for its 38th year. Ohio wines are always hip (and sipped) at Vintage Ohio.

And the new stuff keeps coming: indie-folksters Hop Along are backed by NEO’s women-based Goldmines and ShiSho at the Rock Hall’s Sonic Sessions. New entrepreneurs offer their handmade back-to-school essentials at the Cle Flea at Tyler Village. Weapons of Mass Creation moves to PHS but still pushes the cutting edge of design, music & life-changing creativity.

Mansfield is on a roll, with five missives this week, and always appearing on our Top5. Imagining yourself as a CoolCleveland correspondent, writing, Tweeting, Instagramming? Become unstoppable. —Thomas Mulready
