Garage Rockers @TheCynics Are Back at @BeachlandCle

Cynics

Fri 7/10 @ 9PM

Pittsburgh’s Cynics were way early on the garage-rock revival. In fact, when they started in the mid ’80s, there really was no garage-rock revival. But the records they released on their own Get Hip label helped fuel the one that started sometime in the ’90s, about the time they broke up.

The band’s prime movers, guitarist Gregg Kostelich and vocalists Michael Kastelic, revived the band in 2002 just in time to take some of the well-deserved credit, and they’ve been popping up in town from time to time since.

They’ll be back at the Beachland Tavern where they’ll play with a couple of their progeny, Kent’s Wesley Who and Cleveland’s the Monday Sound which features guitarist Tom Fallon (also of the Alarm Clock and the New Salem Witch Hunters), one of our city’s most dedicated record collectors and garage-rock fans.

Admission is $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
